Facebook Dilemma

I never imagined there could be 5000 people in the world who would want to be my friend. I still can't imagine it, really. But supposedly there are 5000 people out there who want to at least be my cyber friend. And there could be more…so that puts me in a bit of a pickle. Facebook cuts you off for personal pages, but allows you to grow in popularity forever if you have something like a fan page, that people can come by and Like. I've fought this for a while, seeing as how it just seems very awkward and maybe even slightly narcissistic asking people to come by your page and "like" you, but that's probably because I'm the type of person who never does it.

So here's what I'm thinking…

If I have another page, it would have to be somewhat different than the page I have already. I don't want to upkeep two identical pages, with the same pictures, same information, same everything. So my question to you is… How do I differentiate them? I'd love if you had any thoughts, ideas, or suggestions. Basically, what would it take for you to "like" me… :)

I think doing a Fan Page is appropriate give your following and celebrity. I'm a track fan and it's normal to go to someone's page and "Like" them so you can get news, updates, photos, etc. Don't sweat it.

SO, I'm a track fan, but I also do social media as a business and I would love to have a Track & Field client...if you ever need help, you can check out my business at bizbuzztulsa.com

Hope you have a great season, and either way, don't sweat doing a Fan Page. It doesn't mean you have an ego! =D

Just do it. Then link out gluons fan page. It'll take a while to build it back up but way worth it.

Yes do the fan page! It could be an extension of your blog AND personal site. updates about meets and what not! Build the brand! Team Bri: Spirituality, Six-Packs, and a bit of Sparkle here and there! Ok, I'm digressing now..... but do it!

Facebook is a Joke! Not only don't do it, delete your current page!

That last comment wasn't nice. I think you should have any page your hearts desire and if people like you the more the merrier. I like your facebook page and it is too bad you can't accept anymore friends because I certainly would have asked for friendship. You are a talented athlete, but what I truly admire is your ability to communicate. We all have favorite athletes, teams, and sports. Some would say we have an over abundance of sports. What we have very little of is women and men who teach kids and teenagers how to operate in this country on a broader scale. Thank you for showing young girls and women the fine art of communication in a national media outlet.
